On December 20, 2024, Nam Dinh Vu Port - Gemadept Corporation welcomed the MSC Ameera III vessel from MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) with an impressive handling volume, once again marking its name in the region's port operation history.
Accordingly, Nam Dinh Vu Port successfully handled over 2,900 containers (equivalent to more than 5,000 TEUs) from the MSC Ameera III vessel, achieving a loading and unloading productivity rate of 112 moves per hour. This record-breaking volume is unprecedented in the history of port operations in the Dinh Vu area, particularly given the challenges posed by draft limitations and equipment constraints while ensuring the operation and productivity committed to the shipping line.
Leveraging the advantages of the Hai Phong Maritime Channel Upgrading Project, which reduced the channel depth to -8.5m and the berth depth of -9.5m, along with synchronized and modern equipment, Nam Dinh Vu Port has once again asserted its pioneering role, operational capability, and outstanding competitive edge in the Hai Phong river port segment. Upon completion of Phase 3, Nam Dinh Vu Port will become the largest port operator in the region, featuring 7 berths (1.5 km), and increasing its throughput capacity to over 2 million TEUs per year.
